Alright, so, I wanted to make this Fendi Mon Tresor Mini Leather & Mesh Bucket Bag, the original order, and I thought, “Why not?” Let me share how I did it.
First, I got all my materials together. I’m talking about top-notch brown calfskin leather, the kind that feels super smooth. And of course, I needed some mesh fabric for that signature Fendi look. Oh, and gold-finish metalware, can’t forget that, it’s essential for the bag’s vibe.
Then, I started with cutting the leather. I carefully measured and cut out the pieces for the main body of the bag, making sure each piece was perfect. After cutting, I embossed the leather with the FF motif. It’s a bit tricky, but I’ve done it a few times before, so I managed to get it right. Hand-painting the motif in black was next. I took my time with this, making sure the lines were crisp and clean.
Working on the Details
- I assembled the leather pieces, stitching them together to form the bucket shape. It’s always satisfying to see the bag taking form.
- Next, I added the mesh panels. This part was a bit challenging because I wanted the mesh to blend seamlessly with the leather. But after a few tries, I got it just right.
- The lining was pretty straightforward. I chose a nice, soft fabric that would protect the contents of the bag and stitched it in place.
Now for the straps. I made two detachable shoulder straps. One is a shorter one for carrying it by hand, and the other is longer, for when I want to wear it crossbody. I used the same brown leather for the straps and added those shiny gold clasps so they could be easily attached and detached.
The drawstring closure was a bit fiddly, but I managed to get it working smoothly. It’s a crucial part of the bag’s design, so I took extra care to make sure it was both functional and looked good.
Finally, I added all the gold-finish metalware—the Fendi logo, the rings for the straps, and the little feet at the bottom of the bag. These details really bring the whole thing together and give it that luxurious feel.
And there you have it! My very own Fendi Mon Tresor Mini Bucket Bag. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it. I’m pretty proud of how it turned out, and I’ve been carrying it everywhere. It’s a great feeling to know I made it myself, and it’s definitely a conversation starter!
