Okay, so I wanted to share my experience remaking the Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag, the small one. It’s a classic, and I’ve been eyeing it for a while. I thought, “Why not try to make one myself?” So, I started my little project. Let me tell you, it was quite a journey!
First, I collected some information about this bag. I found out that it’s named after the historic Prada store in Milan. Cool, right? And it’s known for its Saffiano leather. Sewing the pieces together was the next big step. I used my sewing machine and took it slow. It was tough to sew through the thick leather, but I managed. I assembled the main body of the bag first. Then, I added the interior lining. It was satisfying to see it all coming together.
After sewing, I attached the hardware. I put on the metal feet, the zipper, and the little Prada logo plaque. The logo plaque was a bit of a challenge. I learned that the real Prada bags have a ceramic or leather logo plaque, not plastic or fabric. So, I made sure mine was leather to keep it authentic.
Finally, I added the handles and the shoulder strap. I sewed them on securely, making sure they could hold the weight of the bag. And there it was – my very own handmade Prada Galleria bag!
It wasn’t perfect, but I was proud of it. It looked pretty close to the real thing, and I learned a lot in the process. Plus, I got to enjoy using a bag that I made with my own hands.
