This Yves Saint Laurent, you know, that YSL, that JUNE BOX BAG, it’s a real fancy thing. I saw it on them young’uns, lookin’ all spiffy. It got that shiny logo, they call it, what is it now, CASSANDRE. Shiny and bright, like a new penny. And the bag, it’s all puffy, like them quilts my grandma used to make. They call it quilted, fancy word for puffy.
YSL JUNE BOX BAG, A Real Looker
They say it’s a classic style, this YSL JUNE BOX BAG. Means it ain’t goin’ out of fashion, like them bell bottoms did. Good thing, ’cause it costs a pretty penny. Not somethin’ you buy every day, that’s for sure. It is a luxury thing, just for rich folks, I reckon.
It’s small, this bag. Real small. They call it a micro bag. Don’t know why, can’t fit much in it. Maybe just some lipstick and a bit of cash. Not like my old bag, could fit a whole chicken in that thing! But this YSL JUNE BOX BAG, it’s for show, I guess. To look fancy.
Expensive? You Bet!
Why is it so expensive? That is a mystery to me. They say it’s ’cause of the name, Yves Saint Laurent. Some French fella, I think. Started this whole thing a long time ago, 1961, I heard. Long time. And his partner, what’s his name? Pierre something. They made good stuff, I guess, that’s what the young folks say.
They say it’s made of good stuff, this bag. Lambskin, they call it. Soft, like a baby lamb. And it’s all stitched up real nice. Takes a lot of work, I suppose. And they gotta pay them folks who make it. Then there’s the cost of that lambskin, gotta come from somewhere.

- Quilted, like them old-timey blankets.
- Small, real small. A micro bag.
- Expensive! ‘Cause it’s YSL, you know.
This classic style, it’s somethin’ special, they say. It is an investment, like buyin’ land. Only this is a tiny piece of land you can carry around. And show off, of course. People will know you got good taste. And money. Lots of money.
More Than Just a Bag
They got other fancy things too, this Yves Saint Laurent. Perfume, I saw. Smells strong, kinda flowery. They say it’s got bergamot in it. Don’t know what that is, but it sounds fancy. And this perfume, it lasts a long time. Spray it on in the mornin’, you still smell it at night. Like them flowers in my garden, they just keep on smellin’.
Then they got this other bag, the Le 5 � 7. They made it with python and calfskin. I don’t know about you, but that sounds a little strange. That is very limited, maybe that is why so expensive. It is a true collectible and it will increase its value as an investment.
I guess some people, they like collectin’ these bags. Like stamps, or them little spoons. Only these bags, they cost a whole lot more than a stamp. And you can wear ’em, show ’em off. Can’t do that with a stamp, can you? This YSL bag, especially this JUNE BOX BAG, is a classic style now.
Still a Mystery, But a Pretty One
So, this YSL JUNE BOX BAG, it’s a real fancy thing. Small, puffy, with that shiny logo. Made of lambskin, stitched up real nice. Costs a fortune, but folks still buy it. ‘Cause it’s Yves Saint Laurent, that’s why. A classic style, they say. An investment. A collectible.
I still don’t quite understand it, but it sure is pretty. Like a picture in one of them fancy magazines. Somethin’ to dream about, I guess. They say any Dior bag prior to 1997 will not have a serial number. I think the same to YSL. If you have an old YSL bag, maybe it is more valuable than you thought. Maybe one day I’ll have one. Maybe. When pigs fly, as they say.
