Today I’m gonna talk about my little adventure with the Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar. It’s a mouthful, I know, but bear with me.
The Hunt Begins
So, I started looking for a new watch a while back. Needed something classy, you know? Something that says “I’ve got my life together” even when I don’t. I stumbled upon the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin collection, and man, was I hooked. These watches are like the James Bond of timepieces – sleek, sophisticated, and way cooler than I’ll ever be.
The Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar, in particular, caught my eye. It’s got this whole “I can track the date until the year 2100” vibe, which is pretty wild. Plus, it’s super thin – only 9.2mm thick! I mean, my phone is thicker than that.
Diving Deeper
I started digging around, trying to find out more. The case is 39mm in diameter, which is a good size for my wrist. Not too big, not too small, just right. And it’s got these elongated lugs that give it a real elegant look. The case is polished, and it plays with the light in a way that’s just mesmerizing. You can get it with different dial colors – midnight blue, silver, or even eggshell beige. Each one has its own charm.
From what I gathered, Jaeger-LeCoultre is known for their Reverso line, which is super iconic. But the Master Ultra Thin line is where it’s at if you want something flat and conservative, perfect for a dress watch.
The Price Tag
Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room – the price. These watches ain’t cheap. I saw prices ranging from around $4,795 to over $7,000 for different variations of the Master Ultra Thin. The Perpetual Calendar is probably even more. It’s definitely an investment piece, something you’d want to keep for a long time.
The Decision
After a lot of back and forth, I finally decided to pull the trigger. I went with the silver dial version of the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar. It just spoke to me, you know? I figured, if I’m gonna splurge on a watch, it might as well be one that I absolutely love.
- I placed the order online through a certified dealer. It was a bit nerve-wracking, spending that much money on something I hadn’t even tried on.
- The waiting game began. Every day felt like an eternity. I kept checking the tracking information, hoping for some sign that my watch was on its way.
- Finally, the day arrived. The package was at my doorstep. I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning.
And there it was, in all its glory. The Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar. It was even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. I carefully took it out of the box and strapped it on my wrist. It felt perfect.
So there you have it. That’s the story of how I ended up with this beauty on my wrist. It was a journey, that’s for sure. But in the end, it was totally worth it.
I have worn this watch every single day after recieving, and never had any issue with it. It always make me feel confident. Maybe one day I will add a Reverso to my collection, since it is the icon of Jaeger-LeCoultre.
