Okay, so I’ve been messing around with watches for a while now, and let me tell you, this OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary, it’s a whole different beast. I finally decided to get my hands on one, and I’ve gotta say, it’s been quite the ride.
First off, I started digging around about this watch. This isn’t just another limited edition, you know? I mean, sure, the older Snoopy watches were limited, like the 2003 one was only 5,441 pieces and the 2015 one was even fewer, just 1,970. But this 50th Anniversary one, which came out in 2020, it’s not limited. I know some of you may think “Oh, it is not a limited edition.”, but trust me, although it’s not labeled as a limited edition, it is highly sought-after. That’s why I wanted it, and I knew I had to get one.
So, I started my hunt. I looked everywhere for this watch. I saw that it’s a tribute to the award OMEGA got from NASA back in 1970. Apparently, Snoopy’s been NASA’s safety mascot since the ’60s. Who knew, right?
I looked at a bunch of pictures and read a ton of stuff. This watch, it’s got a silver dial with these blue accents on the sub-dials. And the back of the watch, oh man, it’s something else. I mean, the older Snoopy watches had Snoopy on them, but this one’s different. It’s got a whole scene on the back, and it’s animated! How cool is that? I haven’t seen anything like this before. I was so excited to get it.
I finally found one, a 2024 model, brand new, with the original box and papers. The reference number, by the way, is 310.32.42.50.02.001, if you’re curious. I got it, and when I opened that box, it was like, wow. This is more than just a watch.
I’ve been wearing it around, and it’s just so cool. I keep looking at the back, watching the little animation. It’s like a little piece of history on my wrist. And it’s not just a pretty face, you know? It’s an OMEGA, so you know it’s quality.
Honestly, this whole thing, getting this watch, it’s been an adventure. It’s not just about telling time, it’s about the story, the history, the craftsmanship. It felt like I was chasing a treasure. And now that I have it, it’s like, I’m part of that story too.
