Hey everyone, it’s your buddy back again! You won’t believe what I’ve been up to lately. I got this wild idea to try and remake a Patek Philippe watch. Yeah, you heard that right, a Patek Philippe! Specifically, the Gondolo 7042/100G-010 model. It’s the one with all the bling, you know, diamonds all over it. I’ve always thought it was a super classy-looking watch, so I said, “Why not give it a shot?”
First, I started digging around for info on this watch. I mean, where do you even begin with something like this? I hit up all the usual spots online, trying to find out everything I could about the Gondolo 7042/100G-010. Found out it’s part of a collection named after some fancy retailer in Rio, Gondolo & Labouriau. Patek Philippe and these guys were like two peas in a pod back in the day, from 1872 to 1927. Anyway, this watch is no joke – 31mm by 34.8mm, 18k white gold, and covered in diamonds. It’s a real piece of work.
So, after I felt like I had a decent handle on what I was dealing with, I started gathering all my materials. This was a whole other beast. We’re talking about sourcing stuff that even remotely looked like what’s on the real deal. I spent days, maybe even weeks, just trying to find the right bits and pieces. It’s not like you can just pop down to your local store and pick up high-quality fake diamonds and white gold, you know?
Once I had everything (or at least I
