Alright, so, I’ve been on a bit of a wild ride lately. I decided to try my hand at remaking a Patek Philippe Gondolo, specifically the 7042/100G-010 model. Yeah, it sounds a bit nuts, I get it, but just bear with me here.

They’re like unicorns, super rare. I learned that the hardest one to get is the Grandmaster Chime. It is the most complicated watch they ever made. But I’m not after the most complicated, I wanted the Gondolo 7042.
I found out that there’re these numbers, serial and reference numbers. The reference number tells you all about the model and stuff, and the serial number is unique to each watch. My target, the 7042/100G-010, that’s its reference number. So, I used this number to find a bunch of them to take a closer look.
Then I started hunting for info on the 7042/100G-010. Found some listings online. Prices were all over the place. This particular model, it’s got a white gold case, and it’s covered in diamonds. Not just any diamonds, baguette diamonds. They’re all over the bezel and the lugs. Fancy, right?
So, armed with all this info, I began my little project. I looked far and wide. Got some, well, let’s just say “alternative” parts, that looked the part. Started tinkering, trying to piece it together. It was tough, like really tough.
After a lot of trial and error, and more than a few headaches, I finally did it. I made my own version of the Gondolo 7042/100G-010. It’s not the real deal, obviously, but it looks pretty darn close. It’s got that same vibe, you know? The white gold look, the sparkly diamond-ish bits. It’s something I’m pretty proud of.
What I’ve Learned
