Well, I’ll be darned! You ever heard of a Fendi bag? That’s what my granddaughter was tellin’ me about. She’s always on about these fancy things. Says this one is the real deal, a “Perfect CopyFendi Brown Zucchino Mama Forever Baguette Shoulder Bag,” and she say it’s in their “Official flagship store”. What do you call that? It’s a mouthful, ain’t it? I said, “Honey, what’s a Zucchino?” Sounds like somethin’ you’d grow in the garden, right?
She just laughed, said it’s some fancy name. And “Mama,” that’s what they call this type of bag. Seems silly to me, but what do I know? Baguette, now that I get. That’s that long bread, same as french. But what it got to do with a purse? It’s all beyond me.
This here Fendi Zucchino Mama Baguette, it’s brown, she says. Like the color of dirt after a good rain. And she says they got this special canvas, calls it “Zucca canvas.” Whatever that means. It must be tough, like them old feed sacks we used to have. Only this one’s probably softer. And it has this strap, she calls it an “adjustable shoulder strap”. You can make it longer or shorter, I reckon.
- Brown, like tobacco, she said.
- Fendi Zucca, that’s the pattern.
- Mama Baguette, that’s the style. Like a loaf of bread, kinda.
- Shoulder strap, so you can sling it over your shoulder.
Now, I seen a lot of bags in my time. We used to just use whatever we had, old flour sacks, sometimes a feed bag if it was clean enough. Never had nothin’ fancy like this Fendi thing. But this one, she says it’s special. Got a big ol’ buckle, shiny and probably real heavy. Says it’s got that “FF” on it. Means Fendi, I guess. My initials are E.F.. Maybe I should get one and say it was made just for me, ha!
She was goin’ on and on about how these bags are a big deal. Says some fancy folks in a show called “Sex and the City” carried ’em. Never seen it. We only got the one TV, and it’s mostly for the news and weather. Don’t have time for those city shows.
This Fendi, it’s an old name, she tells me. Started way back in Rome. That’s in Italy, you know. Some folks named Adele and Edoardo started it, makin’ handbags and sellin’ fur. Imagine that! Now they’re all over the world. “International acclaim,” she called it. Sounds important.
She says this Fendi bag, it’s all about “elegance” and “craftsmanship.” Means it’s made real good, I suppose. And “innovation,” that’s a new one. Means they’re always comin’ up with somethin’ new, I reckon. And “style,” well, that’s just how it looks. Guess these city folks care a lot about how things look. They call this brown color “tobacco brown”. Sounds fancy.
They say every piece of metal, every little snap and ring, it’s all got Fendi stamped on it. Little “FF”s everywhere. And inside, it says “FENDI MADE IN ITALY.” Big letters, so you know it’s the real deal, I guess.
If you want a real one, you gotta make sure it’s got all those Fendi markings. They say there’s a lot of fake ones out there. People tryin’ to trick ya. So you gotta be careful, especially if you’re gonna spend a lot of money on somethin’ like this.
She told me they sell these Fendi Zucchino Mama Baguette bags for a lot of money. Like, a whole lot. More than I’d spend on a whole year’s worth of groceries! But she says it’s worth it. Says it’s an “investment.” Don’t know about that. Seems like a lot of money for a bag to carry things in. But it must be good to cost so much. Guess it’s like buyin’ a good workhorse. It’ll last you a long time if you take care of it.
Well, I still don’t understand all the fuss. But she’s happy, and that’s all that matters. If she wants a CopyFendi Brown Zucchino Mama Forever Baguette Shoulder Bag, then I guess she should have one. Even if it does sound like somethin’ you’d find in the garden instead of in their “Official flagship store”!
