Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch for a while now. You know, the one with the see-through back? Yeah, that one. I finally pulled the trigger and bought it. Let me tell you the whole story.
First, I started doing some digging online. I mean, it’s a pretty penny, so I wanted to be sure. Found out this watch is a big deal – it’s like the classic Speedmaster everyone thinks of. Manual winding, that Hesalite crystal thingy, and the black dial. Just like the original ones worn on the Moon. Apparently, the design hasn’t changed much since then. Cool, huh?

I wish they make a hesalite crystal with the open caseback, too. There are those who say they did, and those who say they don’t. Who knows? Maybe I can make a request?
So, after all that, I decided to go for it. I went to an Omega boutique, tried it on, and man, it felt good. It’s got some weight to it, feels solid, you know? The sales guy was telling me all about the movement and how it’s all put together. I didn’t understand half of it, but it sounded impressive. I really like to wind my watch, so I was over the moon that it was a manual winding watch.
I ended up buying it. Was it a splurge? Yeah, maybe. But hey, you only live once, right? And this isn’t just any watch. It’s a piece of history, a conversation starter, and it looks damn good on my wrist.
I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now, and I’m loving it. It’s accurate, it’s comfortable, and I catch myself staring at the back all the time. Was it worth the money? For me, absolutely. It’s more than just a watch; it’s a statement. I feel really proud when I wear it.
