Man, I gotta tell you about this watch I’ve been eyeing. It’s the OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary edition. I mean, I’m a big fan of watches, and this one? This one’s been on my radar for a while now.
So, I finally decided to pull the trigger, you know? Started poking around, trying to find the best way to snag one. First thing I did was hit up the OMEGA official website. I figured, why not go straight to the source, right? Browsed through their online catalog, checking out all the specs and drooling over the pictures. Man, that blue and white color scheme on the dial is just killer.
Then, I did a bit more digging, just to see what people were saying. Found some forum threads where folks were chatting about it. Apparently, this Silver Snoopy isn’t a limited edition like some of the older ones. That was news to me! The first Snoopy, back in 2003, was limited to just 5,441 pieces. And then there was one in 2015, limited to 1,970. But this 50th Anniversary one? They’re making more of ’em. Which is good news for guys like me who didn’t want to miss out or pay some crazy markup from a reseller.
Then I saw the coolest thing. Turns out the caseback of this watch has an animated Snoopy in his little space module. It’s a tribute to the award OMEGA got from NASA back in 1970. I read that Snoopy’s been NASA’s safety mascot since the ’60s. Who knew, right?
- Found out it was released on October 5th, 2020.
- Checked out the official site for details.
- Read some forums to learn more.
- Discovered it wasn’t a limited edition!
- Learned about the animated Snoopy on the caseback.
Getting My Hands on One
Alright, so after all that research, I was totally sold. I went back to the OMEGA website and finally found it. Clicked through all the options and hit that “Add to Cart” button. Filled out all my info, paid, and boom – order confirmed! Now the waiting game begins.
I gotta say, I’m pretty stoked. This isn’t just any watch. It’s got history, it’s got that cool Snoopy connection, and it’s a Speedmaster, which is just an iconic watch in itself. I can’t wait to finally get it on my wrist and show it off.
