Alright, guys, so I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer for a while now, and I finally took the plunge. It’s a pretty cool watch, and it’s got some interesting features related to Mars. I figured I’d share my experience trying to snag one of these from their online store.
First off, I went to the official OMEGA website, thinking that’s the best place to start. I saw some promotional information about this watch, and it’s said “made in conjunction with the European Space Agency (ESA)”. That sounds pretty high-tech, so it must be cool. I also found some basic information like the case is made of grade 2 titanium. I gotta say, it looked slick in the pictures, all titanium and whatnot. So far, I got pretty excited about getting one.
But, plot twist! They didn’t have it in stock, or at least there wasn’t a clear “buy now” button anywhere. Talk about a letdown! I was all ready to throw my money at them, but no dice. So, I started checking out other places. I checked out lots of websites that sell watches online. Then I found it on a website called “eBay”, and they said they have this watch in stock with the price range from $5,900 to $5. The price seems fair, so I am thinking about making the order here.
After reading some reviews on this watch, I found out that this watch is bigger than the original X-33 Gen 1 and 2. It is 45mm in diameter, which is a pretty big watch for me. I haven’t decided to order or not, but I will try this watch on in a physical store before ordering, that’s for sure.
I managed to find the operating instructions manual. You know, just to see what this Mars timer can actually do. From what I can tell, it’s got a bunch of features that are supposed to be useful for, well, tracking things on Mars. I can download it as a PDF. I might need some time to go through this long PDF and figure out how to use these functions.
Finally, after a while of digging, I decided to try my luck at a physical store. I searched online and found the nearest store has this watch in stock, so I went there and tried it on. It’s pretty big, but I really love the bezel. I might pull the trigger in a couple of days.
So, that’s where I’m at with the OMEGA X-33 Marstimer. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, but I’m still pretty pumped about it. I’ll keep you guys updated if I end up getting one. It’s not a cheap watch, but man, it’s tempting! Wish me luck!
